AMIA 2009 Symposium will feature journal articles

Extending a pilot initiative that recommended nine AMIA 2008 Symposium accepted papers to JAMIA, the AMIA'09 Scientific Program Committee, led by Lucila Ohno-Machado has confirmed participation of additional biomedical informatics journals in 2009, and plans to recommend a much higher number of outstanding AMIA submissions to be featured in regular issues of:

  • AIM - Artificial Intelligence in Medicine
  • CBM - Computers in Biology and Medicine
  • IJMI - International Journal of Medical Informatics
  • JAMIA - Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association
  • JBI - Journal of Biomedical Informatics
  • JMLA - Journal of the Medical Library Association
  • MIM - Methods of Information in Medicine

The AMIA Annual Symposium will be in San Francisco, Nov 14-18, 2009. The deadline for AMIA submissions is March 13, 2009. More information can be found in the AMIA web site.

Bob Greenes receives Morris Collen award

Bob Greenes, MD, PhD, DSG founder, received the Morris Collen award during the 2008 AMIA Fall Symposium in Washington DC. Congratulations Bob!

DSG to participate in AHRQ-funded CDS project

Brigham and Women's Hospital is one of two sites nationwide to be selected by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality for a project to help integrate clinical decision-support technologies into healthcare delivery. The Knowledge Specification and Translation team will be led by Aziz Boxwala.
